Meridian is a geography game for iPhone, iPad and Mac from Brendan McGuigan. Players learn the countries of the world on a map that fills in as they go. Countries they stop practicing fade again, so the map shows what they actually know. The whole app is drawn to look like an antique engraved atlas, with a small light called the Keeper that grows from a candle to a lighthouse as the player ranks up. The countries game is free with no advertising. Meridian Plus adds capitals, flags, trivia and Deep-Dive packs for ten countries, from $29.99 a year with a free first week, or $59.99 once for life.
